Winter Coat Drive

As winter weather sets in, we need your help collecting winter coats! Kentucky United Methodist Children's Homes serves hundreds of youth across the state whose families may not have the means to provide them with warm winter clothing.

If you'd like to help wrap our youth in warmth, please consider donating a coat! Here's what is most needed:
  • New or gently used coats, hats, and gloves
  • Primarily unisex or men's sizes S - 3X
We can receive donations during regular business hours, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, at two locations:
  • Nicholasville Campus: 1115 Ashgrove Rd, Nicholasville KY 40356 - Get in touch with our office at (859) 523-3001
  • Mary Kendall Campus: 201 Phillips Ct, Owensboro KY 42303 - Get in touch with our office at (270) 683-6481

Christmas is coming!

Gift cards are our preferred gifts for Christmas time. The holidays can be a challenging time for youth in our care. The number of youth we have in our care can change quickly with new youth arriving, sometimes on Christmas Day itself! If we have gift cards to use, our staff can make sure a new resident has a gift and immediately feels loved and welcomed.

Many of the youth we serve have never had a happy Christmas or opened presents. Our youth care staff know each of our youth well. Gift cards allow our staff to shop for exactly what each youth has on their list. A few gift cards are given directly to youth to go shopping and choose a gift for themselves and if they have family contact, their relatives.

Here are the stores we shop at most:
Target, Amazon, Wal-Mart, Kohl's, Kroger and Shoe Carnival
If possible, please include the receipt that shows the gift card amount.

For all campuses, please mail or deliver to our Nicholasville campus:
Development Department
1115 Ashgrove Road
Nicholasville, KY 40356

Help our youth at Christmas!

Help our youth have a wonderful Christmas by providing items from our wish lists.
Gift cards are particularly helpful so our staff can fulfill all our youth's Christmas lists, even youth who arrive hours before the holiday! Gift cards must be received by December 15.

Quilt Ministry

At the Kentucky United Methodist Children's Homes, we want every child to know they are a person of worth. One of the ways we do this is by providing a handmade quilt for them when they enter our programs. Many times our youth come to us with very few personal belongings. A quilt made with love and care just for them is often a very special gift.

If you're a quilter and would like to contribute to this ministry, see below for specifications:
  • Quilts must be Twin or Full sized
  • We currently lack boys' themed quilts with masculine colors (we have plenty of quilts for our girls to choose from!)
Quilts can be delivered or mailed to either of our campuses in Owensboro or Nicholasville.
