The Residential Program on the Versailles Campus of The Kentucky United Methodist Homes for Children and Youth is designed to help male and female adolescents, ages 12-17, many with histories of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and/or family trauma that have resulted in emotional or behavioral problems.
Our Versailles Campus is a Child Caring facility, licensed and regulated by the Cabinet for Health Services, Office of Inspector General. Our license allows for Residential Treatment and Emergency Shelter with Treatment. Many of the youth we care for have had multiple placements prior to coming to our program. Our goal is to address the individual needs of the client and thereby stabilize them to build a better future.
Our licensed clinicians work with our youth, their guardians, and involved parents to develop a plan that is designed to achieve success in treatment. Trained Residential Youth Care Workers and Team Leaders provide 24 hour supervision and assist youth in establishing a healthy routine that allows for work on identified treatment goals.
*Specialty groups are based on the needs of youths on campus.
**Specific interventions are reviewed on an individual basis during the treatment planning process. Licensed clinicians providing TF-CBT, EMDR, DBT, Play Therapy, and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy have additional training in those processes. Seven Challenges and MET/CBT individual treatment and groups are facilitated by trained staff with oversight as required by licensees of that program.
Emergency Shelter Services are available within our Residential Treatment Program. We serve 12-17 year olds with more short term needs in our ES component. We accept Emergency Shelter referrals from DCBS and other state agencies working with youth in need of short term placement and treatment. Shelter residents receive the same professional services afforded those here for a longer term stay.
Placement Coordinators and/or DCBS workers call or email a member of the KYUMH Clinical Services Residential Treatment Staff.
